My Kitchen Rules 2017: Drama with Josh and Amy, Feb. 27, 2017

Since his first moment on screen, Josh Meeuwissen commanded attention on My Kitchen Rules, either by boasting of his and wife Amy's seafood-cooking skills or offering harsh critiques on other's food. But mid-way through the show, it seemed Josh had gotten carried away with being on camera and his taunts became more outlandish while his wife's reactions became more serious. After doing some initial interviews to promote the series, Josh and Amy declined to speak to the media after their second episode aired, except for two separate times they appeared on a radio program to say their piece. While I wish I had gotten a chance to interview the Perth couple, I hear they are actually fine in 'real life' and over the negative attention cast by their television personas. Safe to say any articles I worked on involving them were the ones I least enjoyed writing. I've compiled the clips below from their run on the show. Here, too, are some online links:  When Alyse and Matt may have crossed the line with Josh and Amy; Della and Tully on their feud with Josh; when Josh made his controversial comment to Amy Murr, and the Josh and Amy elimination online story

Author Matthew Reilly on The Four Legendary Kingdoms, Who Dec 12, 2016

Another great thing about working at WHO — reading new books and talking to authors. For our summer book preview, I spoke to Matthew Reilly, now based in LA, about his latest Jack West adventure. More of his interview can be found online here

AACTA Awards preview with Fiona Choi, Who Dec 7, 2016

While Constance Wu receives praise and award-show nods in the US for Fresh Off the Boat, Fiona Choi, who plays matriarch Jenny Law in Australian comedy The Family Law, has gotten nominated for an AACTA Award here. What a pleasure to get to know her.

Geeking out with Bruce Campbell, Who Nov 28, 2016

In a first, I spoke with Bruce Campbell in a cramped hotel room set up for video. As a print person, this was an odd arrangement, but Bruce was affable and everything you would think he'd be. Thanks to the folks at Australian streaming service Stan for the opportunity (so the person he is looking at in the still below is me!) I got to confess my love for The Adventures of Brisco County Jr, which made it worth it! Also, please note — I know he carries a boomstick, but the word was copy edited to 'broomstick.' For fans of Ash v Evil Dead, here's Bruce!

Sexiest People 2016: Josh Thomas, Who Nov 7, 2016

I already adore Please Like Me's Josh Thomas, so any chance I get to interview him is a bonus. For the Sexiest People 2016 issue, Josh was part of the "Funny Is Sexy" act, which also included  James Corden, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, and featured stars Dave Hughes and Kate Langbroek. Josh's answers are fantastic. I added more online here

Richard Roxburgh and Celia Pacquola, The List, Who Oct 24, 2016

I spoke with actors Richard Roxburgh about his children's book Artie and the Grime Wave and Celia Pacquola about her TV series Rosehaven. If you click on their names, you get to some added material from their online interviews. Also on these pages, I wrote the listings for Black Mirror and Ice Age.

Tyler Henry reads hearts and minds, Who Oct. 3, 2016

I was absolutely thrilled to be connected on a call to Tyler Henry by David Gardner, a publicist I have known for most of my career. I think Tyler sensed the joy, too — it carried through our interview. I have placed other parts of our chat online, which you can read here
